Hawks Interview Candidates for President of Basketball Operations

The Atlanta Hawks have initiated an extensive search for a new president of basketball operations following the recent firing of GM Landry Fields, with Onsi Saleh promoted to GM but expected to be paired with another top executive. Candidates who have already interviewed include Sixers GM Elton Brand, former Nuggets GM Calvin Booth, former Kings GM Monte McNair, and former Hawks GM Danny Ferry, as well as G League president Shareef Abdur-Rahim and former BYU swingman Travis Hansen. The wide-ranging search reflects the Hawks' intent to reset their front office leadership after Fields' surprising dismissal, as he was reportedly well-liked internally. The team is conducting initial interviews via Zoom and is considering both executives with NBA general manager experience and those from other basketball backgrounds.
