Metro Boomin released A Futuristic Summa, a double-disc mixtape hosted by DJ Spinz, that celebrates Atlanta's early 2000s "Futuristic Era" of hip hop by blending nostalgia with modern sounds. The 24-track project features a star-studded lineup including legends like Gucci Mane, T.I., Waka Flocka Flame, 2 Chainz, 21 Savage, Young Thug, and Future, as well as rising artists such as Lil Baby, Skooly, and J Money. The mixtape, which Metro describes as a love letter to the Atlanta hip hop scene of his high school years, intentionally mixes party-rap pioneers with contemporary talents, bridging past and present. The lead single "Slide" featuring Roscoe Dash, released on July 4, sets a melodic, upbeat tone that reflects both early 2010s energy and Metro's evolving production style.
