Elden Ring Nightreign Adds Duos Mode in July Update

FromSoftware's multiplayer roguelike Elden Ring Nightreign, which has amassed over 5 million players since its May 2025 launch, will finally introduce a highly requested duos mode with the release of patch 1.02 on July 30. This update addresses the notable absence of two-player co-op at launch, previously acknowledged by the developers as an oversight due to their initial focus on three-player expeditions. The duos mode is designed to balance difficulty between solo and trio play, enhancing strategic gameplay and allowing friends to team up without relying on a third random player. Alongside duos, the patch will include various quality-of-life improvements such as enhanced UI features and better relic filtering options, reflecting ongoing community feedback. Despite the delay, the addition of duo expeditions is expected to strengthen the player community and potentially boost engagement and sales. Meanwhile, Bandai Namco continues to expand the Elden Ring universe with upcoming projects including a live-action movie and other game expansions.
