Fatal Motorcycle Crash Blocks Highway 99 Near Yuba City

A fatal motorcycle crash occurred on Highway 99 near Bogue Road in Yuba City on the morning of July 30, 2025, involving a 62-year-old man from Live Oak riding a Harley-Davidson and a white Nissan Rogue driven by 65-year-old Amarjit Singh of Yuba City. The crash happened as Singh made an illegal left turn at an intersection with a no left turn sign and red left arrow, colliding head-on with the motorcyclist who had a green light. The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike, sustained major injuries, and was pronounced dead at Adventist Health + Rideout Hospital, while Singh suffered minor injuries and his 33-year-old passenger was unharmed. Northbound lanes of Highway 99 were closed for several hours following the crash but reopened by late morning, with traffic diverted to alternate routes during the closure. The California Highway Patrol stated that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
