Jon M. Chu, Sydney Sweeney to Adapt Split Fiction Film
A film adaptation of Hazelight Studios' hit video game Split Fiction is moving forward, with Jon M. Chu (Wicked, Crazy Rich Asians) set to direct and Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria, Anyone But You) starring and executive producing. The screenplay will be written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, known for their work on Deadpool & Wolverine. Split Fiction, which sold over two million copies in its first week and received critical acclaim, follows authors Mio and Zoe who become trapped in their own fictional worlds and must work together to escape. It remains unclear whether Sweeney will play Mio or Zoe. Production will be handled by Story Kitchen and Chu's Electric Somewhere, with industry buzz high due to Story Kitchen's success with other game adaptations. The project is in early development, with no release date announced yet.
