Diamondbacks Ace Corbin Burnes Placed on 15-Day IL with Elbow Inflammation

Arizona Diamondbacks ace Corbin Burnes has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to right elbow inflammation after leaving a game early against the Washington Nationals. Burnes experienced tightness in his elbow during the fifth inning, leading to a noticeable drop in velocity on his fastball and prompting him to exit the game. The team is awaiting additional medical opinions to determine the best course of action, with Burnes seeking further evaluations in Los Angeles. In his absence, right-hander Ryne Nelson will step into the starting rotation, and left-hander Tommy Henry has been called up to fill the open roster spot.
