Sunrise Energy Metals Doubles Scandium Resource At Syerston, Australia
Sunrise Energy Metals has announced a significant increase in the Mineral Resource Estimate for its Syerston Scandium Project in New South Wales, Australia, now holding 19,007 tonnes of contained scandium at an average grade of 414 g/t, marking a 98% increase in contained metal and solidifying its position as the world’s largest and highest-grade scandium deposit. This development comes amid global supply shortages and rising scandium prices following China’s export restrictions imposed in April 2025, highlighting the project's strategic importance in the rare earth elements market. Over 90% of the global resource is classified within the Measured and Indicated categories, reflecting a high degree of geological confidence, and the mineralization extends from the surface to 35 meters depth, supporting potentially low-cost, rapid mining operations. The company is finalizing a Feasibility Study expected later this month to support ongoing financing and offtake negotiations. Sunrise Energy Metals also owns the Sunrise Nickel-Cobalt Project, one of the largest and most cobalt-rich nickel laterite deposits globally, further strengthening its position in critical minerals. The company is actively engaging with customers, investors, and government stakeholders to advance project development and market presence.
