UK Chancellor Reeves Plans £725bn 10-Year Infrastructure Overhaul
Chancellor Rachel Reeves has announced a £725 billion infrastructure plan spanning the next decade to modernize Britain’s crumbling schools, hospitals, roads, and bridges, aiming to stimulate economic growth and rebuild community pride. The plan prioritizes quick-result projects and includes a £1 billion 'structures fund' to enhance transport infrastructure, notably strengthening bridges for heavier freight. Significant commitments include £39 billion for affordable housing, £30 billion for nuclear power projects such as the Sizewell C plant, and £15 billion for public transport in England’s city regions, alongside a four-year £2.2 billion settlement for Transport for London.
