Pink Floyd Plans Expanded 50th Anniversary Wish You Were Here Reissue

Pink Floyd is set to release a deluxe 50th anniversary edition of their iconic 1975 album Wish You Were Here on December 12, 2025, through Sony Music. The reissue, titled Wish You Were Here 50, offers a comprehensive collection featuring multiple formats including 3LP clear vinyl, 2CD, Blu-ray with Dolby Atmos mixes, digital downloads, and a deluxe box set. It includes 25 bonus tracks such as nine studio rarities, six previously unreleased alternate versions and demos, and 16 live recordings from a 1975 Los Angeles Sports Arena concert, restored and remastered by Steven Wilson. The deluxe box set also contains exclusive items like a clear vinyl LP of a 1974 Wembley live performance, a replica Japanese 7-inch single, a hardcover book with unseen photos, a comic book tour program, and a Knebworth concert poster. Fans have previewed the restored early demo of “Welcome to the Machine,” originally titled “The Machine Song,” alongside new lyric videos and additional archival material curated by longtime Pink Floyd collaborators. This release follows Sony’s acquisition of Pink Floyd’s catalog in 2024 and marks a major archival campaign aimed at celebrating the band's legacy and the album’s enduring themes of absence and loss.
