Minnesota Beats Michigan State in Overtime

Minnesota beat Michigan State 23-20 in overtime when Drake Lindsey ran for a 3-yard touchdown in OT, denying the Spartans their first Big Ten win. Overtime featured pass interference penalties on both teams; Michigan State converted its OT possession into a 36-yard field goal, and Minnesota used its flag to set up the game-winning score. Michigan State rallied from a 10-0 halftime deficit and briefly led 17-10 after an 85-yard Elijah Tau-Tolliver run and a short Brandon Tullis touchdown, but Minnesota tied the game with under 30 seconds remaining. Redshirt freshman Alessio Milivojevic made his first start for MSU, passing for 311 yards, and Rodney Bullard Jr. had a 71-yard touchdown, but the Spartans were hurt by a called-back TD, a missed chip-shot field goal and other miscues. The loss drops Michigan State to 3-6 overall and 0-6 in Big Ten play, while Minnesota improved to 6-3 and 4-2 in conference and has now beaten Michigan State three straight meetings.
