Apartment Fire in Lomira Kills Woman, Injures Firefighter

A fatal apartment fire occurred on the night of November 1, 2025, in the town of Lomira, Wisconsin, at a multi-unit building on County Road Y. Brandi Koelsch, a 48-year-old Lomira resident, was transported to St. Agnesian Hospital in Fond du Lac but later died from injuries sustained in the fire. Three residents were evacuated from the building with two unharmed, and one firefighter sustained non-life-threatening injuries during rescue operations. The Knowles Fire Department, along with more than a dozen other local fire and emergency departments, responded to the incident. The Office of the State Fire Marshal and special agents from the Wisconsin Department of Justice are assisting the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office in investigating the cause of the fire, which remains under investigation. Authorities have not yet released information regarding the origin or cause of the fire.
