Military Ordnance Prompts Evacuation at Pacoima LAPD

A couple in Pacoima, Los Angeles, brought military explosive devices they found while cleaning a deceased family member's home to the LAPD Foothill Station, triggering the evacuation of the station, four businesses, and 11 homes. The LAPD bomb squad, already on heightened alert after three sheriff's detectives were killed in a recent grenade explosion at a training facility, used a robot to inspect the ordnances. The devices were deemed stable and transported to a secure storage facility for later collection by the military. Authorities continue to investigate a missing grenade from the prior deadly incident.
