Investigation Underway After Body Found in Murfreesboro Tow Lot

Police in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, are investigating a suspicious death after a man's body was found in a vehicle at a local tow yard. The vehicle, a 2007 Hummer that had been towed from a Walmart parking lot on April 5 after being reported abandoned, was discovered at E.A. Towing on Southpointe Court. Tow yard employees found the body while preparing to place a mechanic's lien on the unclaimed vehicle, noticing the body in the back of the locked SUV. Authorities have called for an autopsy to determine the cause of death and how long the man had been deceased. The Murfreesboro Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit is leading the investigation, which remains ongoing.
