Gloucester Man Arrested for Decades-Long Illegal Filming in Williamsburg Bathrooms

George Thomas West of Gloucester County was arrested on August 2, 2025, and charged with 17 counts of unlawful filming and one count of disorderly conduct after being reported for filming individuals in a public restroom in Colonial Williamsburg. Police believe West has unlawfully filmed thousands of males in public restrooms in the Colonial Williamsburg area and the surrounding region, with activity dating back to 1996, primarily on Saturdays. Multiple victims from the recent incident remain unidentified, and authorities are urging anyone who believes they may have been filmed to contact Investigator Steve Roberts Jr. at the Williamsburg Police Department. The investigation involved executing multiple search warrants, and additional resources have been assigned to handle the anticipated influx of reports from potential victims.
