Sarah Jessica Parker Joins Booker Prize Panel

Sarah Jessica Parker has been appointed as a judge for the 2025 Booker Prize, joining a panel chaired by 1993 winner Roddy Doyle. Alongside Parker and Doyle, the panel includes authors Ayọ̀bámi Adébáyọ̀, Kiley Reid, and critic Chris Power. The judges will read approximately 150 novels over the next seven months, culminating in a shortlist announcement in September and a winner revealed in November, with the winner receiving a £50,000 cash prize. Parker, an avid reader and publisher, expressed her excitement, calling this opportunity a 'thrill of a life', despite feeling unworthy compared to the academic backgrounds of typical judges. Gaby Wood, CEO of the Booker Prize Foundation, praised Parker's commitment and her strong support for contemporary fiction. The Booker Prize remains a prestigious award for English-language novels published in the UK and Ireland.
