White Sox Activate Sosa, Option Baldwin to Triple-A
The Chicago White Sox have reinstated infielder Lenyn Sosa from the injured list after he missed two weeks with a right hip flexor strain. Sosa, who has primarily played second base and is hitting .274 with four home runs and 17 RBIs this season, will start at first base and bat seventh against the St. Louis Cardinals. Prior to his return, Sosa completed a three-game rehab stint with the Charlotte Knights, going 1-for-10 with a double. Utility player Brooks Baldwin was optioned back to Triple-A Charlotte after hitting .211 with three home runs and 16 RBIs in 47 games. Left-handed reliever Fraser Ellard, out since early May with a lat strain, will begin a rehab assignment at Charlotte. Sosa is ranked among the top 10 American League second basemen in the first 2025 MLB All-Star voting update.
