Doug Jung Hired as Mass Effect Series Showrunner

Amazon MGM Studios has hired Doug Jung, known for co-writing Star Trek Beyond and producing Chief of War, as showrunner for the upcoming Mass Effect TV series. Daniel Casey, who has been developing the script for nearly a year, will continue as writer and executive producer. The adaptation, in development since 2021, is based on BioWare's acclaimed sci-fi franchise centered on Commander Shepard's battle against the Reapers. Jung will executive produce alongside Casey and partners from Electronic Arts, Cedar Tree Productions, and Arad Productions. The project remains in early development with no announced production start or release date. Fans are hopeful that the adaptation will capture the depth and scope of the games.
