The BBC has acquired the German four-part crime series 'The Black Forest Murders,' which dramatizes a 2016 police investigation into the murders of two young women in southern Germany, based on Walter Roth’s non-fiction book 'SOKO Erle.' The series features Senior Detective Barbara Kramer, played by Nina Kunzendorf, leading a special investigation unit facing intense public scrutiny and complexities involving a second murder. Sue Deeks, head of BBC programme acquisition, praised the series for its authentic portrayal of the meticulous investigative process and the psychological toll on detectives.
