Kim Ng Named Commissioner of Athletes Unlimited Softball League

Kim Ng, the pioneering former general manager of the Miami Marlins and the first woman to hold such a role in Major League Baseball, has been named commissioner of the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL). Ng brings over three decades of experience in baseball, including stints with the Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, and Los Angeles Dodgers, and has already served as a senior adviser to AUSL, helping to prepare the league for its inaugural traditional season. Under her leadership, the league will launch with four teams playing a 24-game, 10-city touring season before transitioning to city-based teams next year, reflecting a significant shift from Athletes Unlimited's previous individual-focused formats. Ng views her new role as part of a broader movement elevating women's professional sports into the mainstream, emphasizing her personal passion for softball, which she played from youth through college.
