Netflix Casts Russell Crowe, Tremblay, Woodley In Unabom Thriller

Netflix and Media Rights Capital are producing "Unabom," a domestic terrorist thriller about Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber, with a notable cast including Russell Crowe, Jacob Tremblay, Shailene Woodley, and Annabelle Wallis. The film focuses on Kaczynski's early life as a Harvard math prodigy and explores his involvement in controversial MK-Ultra psychological experiments led by Professor Henry Murray, portrayed by Crowe, which are believed to have contributed to his mental instability. Tremblay plays the teenage Kaczynski, while Woodley takes on the role of FBI Agent Joanne Miller, who leads the manhunt that ultimately captures him after his nationwide bombing campaign from 1978 to 1995, which killed three and injured 23. Directed by Janus Metz, the film is based on a script by Sam Chalsen and Nelson Greaves and is being developed in association with 2.0 Entertainment and MRC. This project marks Netflix's first original Unabomber film, though the platform previously streamed related series and documentaries. Production is set to begin soon with no official release date announced yet.
