Lincoln County Business Owner Sentenced 41 Years Child Sex Abuse

Daniel Stuebgen, owner of Happy Trails Feed & Tack in Lincoln City and Green Acres Beach & Trail Rides in Pacific City, was sentenced to over 41 years in prison after being convicted of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl who volunteered at his businesses. The conviction includes multiple charges such as first-degree sexual abuse, second-degree rape and sodomy, and using a child in the display of sexually explicit conduct. The case began in August 2023 when a tip from a child abuse hotline prompted an investigation by the Lincoln City Police Department and Oregon Department of Human Services. Despite being ordered to have no contact with the girl during the investigation, Stuebgen helped her run away and attempted to conceal her from authorities. After a five-day trial, a jury found him guilty of nine separate incidents of abuse. Judge Sheryl Bachart emphasized that no sentence could fully address the harm caused, noting that Stuebgen exploited a vulnerable child and continued his actions even after the investigation began.
