Quavo Launches Trauma Fund After Atlanta Shootings

Following a violent weekend in Atlanta with 49 shootings resulting in five fatalities, rapper Quavo and The Rocket Foundation have launched an Emergency Trauma Therapy Fund to support youth and families affected by gun violence. The fund was created in direct response to the deaths of Deshawn Johnson, an 18-year-old Rocket Camp participant, and Aaron 'Coach Ball' Hines, a community leader and prior grant recipient, both connected to the foundation. Donations will support trauma-informed therapy and community services through partnerships with organizations such as Hope Hustlers and the Offenders Alumni Association. The Rocket Foundation, established by Quavo to honor his late bandmate Takeoff, has a track record of violence prevention advocacy, including hosting summits and working with national leaders. The initiative highlights the urgent need for mental health resources and encourages community donations to aid recovery. Quavo has stressed that while lost lives cannot be replaced, collective action can help communities heal.
