Oscar-winner Olivia Colman stars in Warburtons' newest TV advert, following previous campaigns featuring Robert De Niro and Samuel L. Jackson. In the comedic ad, Colman plays an intimidating agent from the fictional Department of National Treasures (D.O.N.T), leading a mock inspection of Warburtons' crumpet production to determine if the bakery's crumpets deserve 'National Treasure' status. The ad humorously explores crumpet toppings, including butter, jam, cheese, and avocado, set to a re-recording of Wham!'s 'Careless Whisper' saxophone solo by original musician Steve Gregory. Ultimately, Colman's inspection is revealed to be a ruse to steal crumpets, highlighting Britain's enduring affection for this staple, with recent surveys showing 71% of Brits consider crumpets a key part of their culture.
