Big Bang Theory Spinoff Awaits HBO Max Approval

Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, the next spinoff from The Big Bang Theory franchise, is in development for HBO Max and will prominently feature CGI and special effects to blend science fiction and fantasy with comedy. Chuck Lorre, co-creator of the original series, has written ten episodes with Bill Prady and Zak Penn, marking the shortest installment in the franchise. Kevin Sussman returns as Stuart Bloom, joined by Brian Posehn as Bert Kibbler, Lauren Lapkus as Denise, and John Ross Bowie as Barry Kripke. Unlike previous sitcom entries, this series takes a bold creative turn into genre storytelling. The project is still awaiting formal approval from HBO Max, but Lorre expressed enthusiasm for experimenting outside his usual style. This is the third spinoff following Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
