Georgia Tech Promotes James Ramsey As Baseball Head Coach

Georgia Tech has officially named James Ramsey as the 13th head coach of its baseball program, succeeding legendary coach Danny Hall following the 2025 season. Ramsey, who has been on staff since 2019 and became associate head coach in 2021, has been credited with developing some of college baseball's top offenses and recruiting classes, including the highest-rated signing class in Tech history in 2024. The Atlanta Braves have made a coaching change by bringing back Fredi González as their third base coach to address recent base running and offensive struggles, replacing Matt Tuiasosopo who will move to a minor league role. González last managed the Braves from 2011 to 2016 and aims to restore fundamentals and urgency amid a challenging 2025 season. Meanwhile, the Washington Spirit have promoted Assistant Coach Adrián González to head coach, effective July 18, after Jonathan Giráldez departed to lead OL Lyonnes; González previously served as the Spirit's interim head coach and has experience coaching in Spain. These coaching changes across college baseball, Major League Baseball, and professional women's soccer highlight a period of transition and strategic repositioning within their respective teams.
