3 Body Problem Season 2 Adds New Cast in Budapest

Netflix's acclaimed sci-fi series 3 Body Problem, based on Liu Cixin’s 'Remembrance of Earth's Past' trilogy, has begun production on its second season in Budapest. New cast members include Alfie Allen in a recurring role, as well as series regulars Claudia Doumit (Captain Van Rijn), Ellie De Lange (Ayla), David Yip, and Jordan Sunshine. The returning cast features Jess Hong, Benedict Wong, Eiza González, Jovan Adepo, Saamer Usmani, Liam Cunningham, Marlo Kelly, Sea Shimooka, and Josh Brener. Season 2 will adapt elements from 'The Dark Forest,' focusing on humanity's preparations for a looming alien invasion both on Earth and in space. The first season received critical acclaim, topped Netflix charts, and garnered multiple Emmy nominations. Showrunners David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, and Alexander Woo, along with Netflix, remain committed to adapting the full trilogy.
