MLB Prospects Begin Key Rehab Assignments

Several MLB prospects and young players are beginning or continuing rehab assignments as they work to return from injuries. Miami Marlins' pitching prospect Eury Perez made his first minor-league rehab start since Tommy John surgery and is expected to be activated in late May. Pittsburgh Pirates' first baseman Spencer Horwitz has started his rehab assignment at Double-A Altoona after missing the season with a wrist injury. Baltimore Orioles pitching prospect Chayce McDermott is set to pitch for Double-A Chesapeake as he recovers from a lat injury, potentially strengthening the Orioles' injury-hit rotation. Washington Nationals rookie pitcher Zach Brzykcy has begun his Major League rehab at Triple-A following a quad strain and has shown strong results. These assignments may provide important reinforcements to their teams as the MLB season continues.
