South Korean Actor Song Young-kyu Found Dead at 55 in Yongin

South Korean actor Song Young-kyu, aged 55, was found dead in a parked car in Cheoin-gu, Yongin, with no signs of foul play or suicide. Song, known internationally for his role as Chief Choi in the 2019 hit film Extreme Job, had recently faced public scrutiny following a drunk-driving incident in June that led to his removal from multiple acting projects and a stage play. Despite his long and respected career spanning theater, film, and television since 1994, the cause of his sudden death remains under investigation with an autopsy pending. His passing has deeply affected the Korean entertainment industry, which is also reflecting on issues of mental health and media pressure. Several of his ongoing projects, including the dramas I Shopping and Tri: We Become a Miracle, have expressed condolences and confirmed minimal or no further editing out of respect.
