Dua Lipa was named the most played artist across radio, TV, and public places in the UK for 2024 by Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL), marking the second time she has topped the chart after previously achieving this in 2020. She surpassed Ed Sheeran, who had held the number one spot for three consecutive years, with Taylor Swift ranking second and Sheeran third. Dua Lipa's music was played an average of 400 times per day, with her 2024 single "Houdini" among the most played tracks, while her 2018 hit "One Kiss" remains her most played song of all time. The most played track of 2024 was Noah Kahan's "Stick Season," followed by Teddy Swims' "Lose Control" and Benson Boone's "Beautiful Things." British artists made up 70% of the top 10 most played artists, highlighting their strong presence in UK media and public spaces. PPL CEO Peter Leathem praised the continued success of British talent and the emergence of new artists like Myles Smith in the most played tracks.
