Eyes of Wakanda Premieres August 2025 on Disney+

Marvel Animation's 'Eyes of Wakanda,' an animated series executive produced by Ryan Coogler and created by Todd Harris, is set to premiere on Disney+ on August 1, 2025. The four-episode anthology follows the Hatut Zeraze—elite Wakandan warriors—as they retrieve stolen Vibranium artifacts across 600 years, from ancient Crete to 19th-century Ethiopia, and features mythological figures such as Odysseus. The show will debut the MCU's first female Iron Fist, voiced by Jona Xiao, and the finale will reportedly tie directly into the first Black Panther film. Set within the main MCU timeline, the series is part of Marvel's Phase Six and explores Wakanda's history and culture in depth. While the expansion of Wakandan lore has been praised, some fans are disappointed that the series is animated rather than live action. 'Eyes of Wakanda' marks the first project from Coogler's Proximity Media under a new Disney TV deal, with more Wakanda-themed content in development.
