Corey Seager Activated, Returns to Rangers Lineup

Corey Seager has been activated from the injured list by the Texas Rangers after being sidelined with a strained right hamstring since April 23. Seager completed multiple rounds of batting practice and running drills with no setbacks, enabling his return after the minimum 10-day IL stint. The Rangers posted a 2-7 record in the nine games without him and hope his return will help revitalize their struggling offense. Manager Bruce Bochy stated that Seager may serve as designated hitter at times to manage his workload. Before the injury, Seager was hitting .286/.345/.468 with four home runs. In a corresponding move, Jonathan Ornelas was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.
