Ukrainian Troops Join UK VE Day Anniversary Parade

Around 1,000 UK personnel from the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, British Army, and Royal Air Force will march in London for the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day, with Ukrainian troops joining to symbolize global solidarity against Russia's ongoing invasion. The Ukrainian contingent, consisting of personnel training under Operation Interflex, reflects the UK's support for Ukraine, with over 54,000 recruits trained since 2022. The Ministry of Defence highlighted the participation as a reminder of the enduring fight for freedom in Europe and the strength of international alliances. Second World War veterans, including D-Day veteran Jack Mortimer, will attend, underscoring the importance of remembering past sacrifices.
