Broadway Celebrates Juneteenth Concert Set for Times Square
The fifth annual Broadway Celebrates Juneteenth concert will take place on June 19, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM in Times Square, featuring an all-Black Broadway cast performing musical numbers from a wide range of shows such as The Lion King, Wicked, and Moulin Rouge! The event honors Black artistry, culture, and unity, with two-time Tony winner Kara Young and Tony nominee Jon Michael Hill co-hosting the concert. Tony Award-winning actor, activist, and philanthropist André De Shields will receive the 2025 Juneteenth Legacy Award for his distinguished career and advocacy. The concert is free and will proceed rain or shine, supported by Flagstar Bank and live music from The Music Performance Trust Fund and the Film Funds. This annual celebration continues to highlight the importance of Juneteenth through a powerful combination of music, dance, and community engagement. The event also features the return of the kids of Young Gifted and Broadway, and American Sign Language interpretation will be provided.
