Two Motorcyclists Die in Separate Crashes on Scottish A-Roads

Two separate fatal motorcycle crashes occurred in Scotland in August 2025. On August 10, Lorne MacMillan from Arisaig died two weeks after a collision between his black motorbike and a grey Peugeot near Latheron on the A9. The driver and passenger of the car were treated and released, while a woman was arrested and charged with a road traffic offence. On August 24, a 29-year-old man riding a blue Honda CBR motorcycle died after crashing with a white Volkswagen Touareg on the A97 Glenkindie to Kildrummy road near Alford, Aberdeenshire. The Volkswagen's driver and a passenger sustained minor injuries and were treated. Police in both cases have appealed for witnesses and dash-cam footage to assist investigations and have expressed condolences to the families affected.
