Multiple US Foundations Award Thousands in Scholarships to Area Students

Several scholarship programs across the United States have recently awarded funds to students pursuing higher education in various fields. SSM Health Ripon Community Hospital medical staff granted $2,000 scholarships to three area high school seniors intending to enter healthcare professions. The Post Rock Community Foundation awarded over $3,800 in scholarships to students from Lincoln High School and rural townships for attendance at Kansas universities or vocational schools. AmVets Ladies Auxiliary 282 in Potsdam provided $100 scholarships to six seniors entering the military, honoring them at a celebratory dinner. Oklahoma State University launched the Horizon Scholars Program, funded by $12 million from alumni families, which will offer renewable four-year scholarships, stipends for internships and study abroad, and mentorship, starting with freshmen in 2026. Additionally, the Austin Area Foundation awarded scholarships to students majoring in education, biology, criminology, and kinesiology, supporting their continued academic pursuits.
