Fresh Prince Actor Floyd Myers Jr. Dies at 42

Floyd Roger Myers Jr., a former child actor who played young Will Smith in a 1992 episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, died on October 29 at age 42 from a heart attack at his home in Maryland, his mother Renee Trice told TMZ. Trice and reports said he had survived three prior heart attacks over the past three years and some accounts say he had been critically ill, including a coma in 2023; Trice said she spoke with him the night before his death. Myers also portrayed young Marlon Jackson in The Jacksons: An American Dream and appeared in a 2000 episode of Young Americans before retiring from acting around 2000. After leaving show business he co-founded the Fellowship Men’s Group, a nonprofit focused on men’s mental health. He is survived by four children—Taelyn, Kinsley, Tyler and Knox—and his sister Tyree Trice has launched a GoFundMe to help cover funeral expenses; fans, former colleagues and the men’s group paid tribute online and pledged to continue the organization’s mission.
