US Launches Operation Midnight Hammer Strikes Iran Nuclear Sites
Under the direct orders of President Donald Trump, the United States launched Operation Midnight Hammer, a highly classified and precise military strike on three key Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. The operation involved over 125 aircraft, including a historic deployment of seven B-2 stealth bombers, which flew from the continental U.S. and used decoys and midair refueling to maintain tactical surprise. Tomahawk cruise missiles were also launched from a U.S. submarine to target installations in Isfahan. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs Chairman General Dan Caine emphasized the mission's success in severely degrading Iran's nuclear infrastructure without harming Iranian soldiers or civilians, stressing that the operation was not intended for regime change but to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. Both officials warned that any Iranian retaliation would face even stronger U.S. responses, highlighting the precision and discipline of American forces throughout the 25-minute strike. Operation Midnight Hammer is considered one of the largest and most sophisticated U.S. aerial strikes in recent years and joins a series of significant military operations in the Middle East focused on countering Iran's nuclear ambitions.
