Pilot Dies in Simi Valley Plane Crash

A small, single-engine plane crashed into two homes in the Wood Ranch area of Simi Valley, California, on Saturday afternoon, killing the pilot, who was the only person on board. The crash occurred around 2:10 p.m. after the plane departed from William J. Fox Airfield in Lancaster and was en route to Camarillo Airport. Both homes sustained structural and fire damage, but all residents inside were safely evacuated without injuries. Approximately 40 firefighters responded and quickly extinguished the fire. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the incident amid increased scrutiny of aviation safety following recent crashes. The pilot's identity has not yet been released.
