Planned Developments Propose Over 4,700 New Homes Across UK Urban Areas

Several new housing developments are planned across the UK, reflecting ongoing efforts to address housing demand. In Pickwick, Wiltshire, plans have been submitted to build 11 energy-efficient homes with some affordable units, replacing a previously rejected care home proposal and preserving historic features. Southall is set to gain a large 1,273-home neighborhood called Quarter Yards, linked to the Elizabeth line, which has boosted demand and prices in connected areas. West Bromwich will see 10 new homes built on previously neglected land, aimed at council rental housing. In east London, St William plans to develop 2,900 homes as part of a 30-acre masterplan at Beckton Riverside, including non-residential space and a riverside park. Additionally, a former technology park in Hersham could be transformed into a 280-home neighborhood centered around green spaces, although no affordable housing is proposed due to viability concerns.
