Packers Fans Continue Labor Day Fence-Painting Tradition in Green Bay

Green Bay Packers fans upheld a cherished Labor Day tradition by painting a new motivational slogan on the original Packers fence across from Lambeau Field. This year’s slogan, “Original Fence, New Policy, Same Goal,” honors the late Fred Harrsch, who maintained the tradition until his passing in 2022, as well as the team's new President and CEO, Ed Policy, while emphasizing the ongoing goal of winning the Super Bowl. The Harrsch family has continued to preserve the tradition and the property despite multiple purchase offers, welcoming fans of all ages to participate in the painting. The event marks the unofficial start of the NFL season, with fans gathering to celebrate community and team spirit. Former Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy and current CEO Ed Policy were invited to the event, though Policy did not participate in the painting. The tradition, which began over 20 years ago, remains a meaningful expression of fan dedication and hope for bringing another Lombardi Trophy back to Titletown.
