Texas Softball Star Mia Scott Joins Athletes Unlimited Pros

Mia Scott, a standout third baseman for the Texas Longhorns softball team, has turned professional by signing with the Volts of the inaugural Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL). Selected from the reserve athlete pool by Volts' general manager and Longhorn legend Cat Osterman, Scott is expected to bring significant impact, having led Texas with a .446 batting average despite playing with a torn ACL. Scott played a crucial role in Texas' first Women’s College World Series championship, including hitting a grand slam in the final game, and concluded her collegiate career with top program records in doubles, hits, and runs. The AUSL, backed by MLB, is currently hosting a 24-game regular season with plans to transition to a city-based league in 2026. Despite earlier reluctance to pursue a professional career, Scott's selection by the Volts has been met with enthusiasm from Longhorns coach Mike White and the softball community.
