Wisconsin Student Found Dead in Mississippi River
Eliotte Heinz, a 22-year-old Viterbo University graduate student, was found dead in the Mississippi River near Brownsville, Minnesota, after being reported missing early Sunday morning. She was last seen on surveillance footage walking near the river around 3:30 a.m. following a night out with friends. Extensive search efforts involved police, her family, friends, and community volunteers. Authorities confirmed the recovery of her body and expressed gratitude for support from the La Crosse community, the state, and nationally. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of her death and are awaiting autopsy results for the official cause.
