Avelo Airlines Restarts Wilmington-Nashville Flights, Plans Further Expansions

Avelo Airlines has relaunched its nonstop service between Wilmington Airport and Nashville International Airport, offering the only direct flights between Delaware and Tennessee’s capital. The route operates twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays using Boeing 737 aircraft, with fares starting at $39. This move is part of Avelo’s broader expansion, which will bring the total nonstop offerings from Wilmington to 14 cities, including new routes to Jacksonville, Florida, and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, later this month. While the airline is being praised for enhancing regional connectivity and providing affordable travel options, it faces controversy and boycott calls over its contract with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to manage deportation flights. Despite protests, Avelo continues to expand its network, maintaining a focus on convenience and low fares. The airline has also been recognized for its industry-leading reliability and low cancellation rates.
