Marin Teen Killed, 2 Hurt in DUI Police Chase

A 17-year-old Marin County boy was arrested after crashing a stolen Kia Soul during a police pursuit near Petaluma, resulting in the death of 14-year-old Aldo Rodriguez Cazarez and significant injuries to two other teenagers, aged 15 and 16. Police responded to a report of a possible intoxicated driver at a gas station on Lakeville Highway and tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled, swerved into oncoming traffic, and sideswiped another vehicle before rolling over and ejecting all four juvenile males from Marin County. The driver was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and faces charges of vehicular manslaughter, evading police causing injury or death, and DUI causing injury or death. He will be booked into juvenile hall after his hospital release. The California Highway Patrol and Santa Rosa Police are investigating the crash and preceding events. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the police tip line.
