Putin sends emergency planes to Iran after deadly port explosion
Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the deployment of several emergency aircraft to Iran to assist in responding to a major explosion at the port of Bandar Abbas, which reportedly killed at least 25 people and injured over 700. The aircraft include a Beriev Be-200 amphibious plane specialized in firefighting and an Ilyushin Il-76 military transport plane. Putin expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and his wishes for the injured to recover, while also offering Russia's support for recovery efforts. The explosion, believed to have been caused by chemical materials, occurred at Iran's largest port, and its exact cause remains under investigation. Moscow has indicated readiness to provide further assistance as needed. Iranian state media continue to monitor the situation as recovery efforts proceed.
