Zayed Sustainability Prize Shortlists 33 Global Projects From 173 Nations

The Zayed Sustainability Prize has shortlisted 33 global projects as finalists for its 2026 edition, chosen from over 7,760 submissions across 173 countries, marking a 30% increase from the previous year. The finalists address urgent global challenges in six categories: health, food, energy, water, climate action, and global high schools, with innovations ranging from AI health diagnostics to circular food systems and modular biogas technology. Notable finalists include UAE-based Jade Autism, which uses AI-driven tools to support neurodiverse children and is adopted in over 179 countries, and Brazilian contenders in the water and high school categories. Winners in each category will receive $1 million, with the results announced during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week in January 2026. The prize, which has recognized 128 winners to date, has significantly impacted millions by improving access to safe water, reliable energy, nutritious food, and affordable healthcare. Organizers emphasize that these projects exemplify the integration of sustainability and prosperity, reflecting the legacy of Sheikh Zayed and demonstrating how technology, finance, and community leadership can generate scalable socioeconomic value worldwide.
