IHG Expands Hotel Portfolio in Eastern India Egypt with New Holiday Inn Deals

IHG Hotels & Resorts is expanding its footprint with two significant new hotel projects in strategic locations. In Siliguri, Eastern India, IHG has signed a management agreement for a 100-room Holiday Inn Express near Bagdogra Airport, set to open in 2028, aimed at serving business and transit travelers and enhancing the brand's presence in key travel corridors. This hotel will feature the brand’s Generation 5 design, emphasizing modern workspaces and guest-focused layouts, contributing to IHG's growing portfolio in India with 17 operational Holiday Inn Express hotels and 21 more under development. Meanwhile, in Egypt, IHG has partnered with Al Ashraaf Developments to launch a 170-room Holiday Inn in Al Obour City, a fast-growing urban area near Cairo International Airport, offering extensive amenities including multiple food and beverage outlets, meeting spaces, and retail options. This property will incorporate the brand's Open Lobby concept, designed to facilitate work, dining, and relaxation, enhancing Cairo's status as a key tourism and business hub in North Africa. Both projects reflect IHG’s strategic focus on expanding in high-growth markets by providing modern, flexible hospitality environments suited to contemporary travelers' needs.
