On June 10, a significant gas leak near Park City's historic Main Street in Utah led to the evacuation of multiple businesses and homes south of Heber Avenue, including Main Street, Park Avenue, and Swede Alley. The Park City Fire Department responded promptly, and Enbridge Gas crews worked on clamping gas lines to control the leak, with no injuries reported so far. In Silvis, Illinois, a gas leak at a Walmart store also prompted an evacuation of workers and customers, with authorities actively monitoring the situation. Meanwhile, in Câmara de Lobos, Madeira, an ammonia leak at the Empresa de Cervejas da Madeira forced the evacuation of approximately 150 people, including workers and nearby residents, and established a 300-meter safety perimeter. Several individuals showed symptoms related to ammonia exposure, with some receiving hospital treatment, while emergency services continue air quality monitoring to determine when it is safe for people to return. These incidents highlight ongoing risks associated with gas and chemical leaks, prompting swift evacuations and emergency responses to ensure public safety.
