El Michels Affair, led by Leon Michels, is set to release their new album '24 Hr Sports' on September 5, 2025, following the 2023 collaborative album 'Glorious Game' with Black Thought. The lead single 'Anticipate,' featuring Clairo, showcases a sultry, grooving sound that aligns with Michels' recent production work on Clairo's 2024 album 'Charm.' Inspired by the colorful and two-dimensional graphic design of ’80s and ’90s Sports Illustrated magazines, the album merges vintage influences with modern technology and includes guest appearances from Norah Jones, Shintaro Sakamoto, Florence Adooni, Rogê, Dave Guy, and a sample from the late Rahsaan Roland Kirk. Michels describes the project as a blend of past and present sounds, reflecting his commitment to making music that aligns with his artistic vision rather than mainstream trends.
