Briscoe Takes Pole in First Season with JGR
Chase Briscoe, in his first season with Joe Gibbs Racing, secured his third consecutive NASCAR Cup Series pole at Michigan International Speedway with a lap of 195.514 mph, marking his fourth pole of the 2025 season and the fastest in the Next Gen car era. This is Briscoe's first pole at Michigan and the sixth of his Cup Series career. Kyle Busch, who is seeking to end a 71-race winless streak, qualified second, missing the pole by just 0.027 seconds. Denny Hamlin, currently on 'baby watch' and potentially returning home briefly before the race, will start third. William Byron and Kyle Larson complete the top five starters, while several drivers, including Ryan Blaney and Tyler Reddick, experienced tire issues in practice but still qualified. The FireKeepers Casino 400 will be broadcast nationally on Amazon Prime Video on Sunday.
